Director of Risk Management and Quality Improvement in Orlando, Florida

The Director of Risk Management and Quality Improvement has a broad responsibility to protect the hospital?s assets from loss. The Director of Risk Management and Quality Improvement is responsible for coordinating the loss control efforts and advising management and administration on all potential sources of loss and for making recommendations to minimize or eliminate exposure. The structure and functions of the Risk Management Program are designed so as to comply with guidelines and standards of the Joint Commission, ACHA, and other regulatory agencies. Monitors, evaluates, plans and implements the facility-wide Quality Improvement Program.
Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Master's Degree in mental health counseling or social work with five years experience in a psychiatric inpatient facility with knowledge of high risk areas. Three years management experience preferred. Qualified candidates must be licensed as a Registered Nurse License from the state of Florida or have a license as a mental health professional from the state of Florida. Must be licensed in Florida as a Risk Manager. Healthcare Quality Certification preferred. Experience with LEAN and SixSigma preferred. Knowledge of hospital operations, risk identification, assessment and reduction and claims management required. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: (MUST HAVES)
Ideal candidates will have experience in the following:
- Identifying and managing potential risks and liabilities within the hospital
- Developing and implementing policies and procedures that improve patient care and employee safety
- Educating and training staff about potential risks
- Investigating patient accusations and complaints of abuse and neglect
- Data collection and analysis and making recommendations and creating action plans for change
- Ideal Candidates will have clinical expereince working in an psychiartic in-patient hospital.
- Chairing and participating on multiple hospital committees
- Participating in new hire orientation and annual training of staff
